Thank you to everyone who contributed to the campaign – those who donated their hard-earned money, their valuable time, their effort.

     We came up a ‘few’ votes short of unseating a long-term incumbent, but put up a more than creditable showing in a district stacked heavily against us. I could not have done it without the help of committed patriots, of conservatives who have read and understood the documents this nation was founded on, who hold the precepts of individual liberty and fiscal responsibility.

     Decades ago, George Santayana penned the truism that “Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it”. We have learned from history – the brief history of the campaign, and the history of this great nation: When all seemed lost at Valley Forge, George Washington attacked – and won. When we were mauled on Bataan and again at Kasserine Pass, we came back and crushed the enemy. We did not take Suribachi on the first assault. We cannot, we will not accept one setback as a defeat – it would be a violation of every principle that we stand for, as individuals, as a party, as a people.

     I will run again in 2010, and with your support, with support from the new leadership of our party at all levels, we will win.
